On July 23, 2024, the Leibniz Institute of Vegetable and Ornamental Crops (IGZ) hosted an enlightening Mini-Symposium on the biotechnological applications of marine endophytic fungi. This event, part of our food4future project, aimed to explore innovative methods for cultivating edible marine macroalgae and halophytes (sea vegetables) in urban environments.

Agenda Highlights:

The symposium was a resounding success, featuring insightful discussions and groundbreaking ideas. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to IGZ Director Prof. Dr. Nicole van Dam for her wonderful welcome remarks. Special thanks also to project coordinator Prof. Dr. Monika Schreiner and deputy project coordinator Babette Regierer, who inspired engaging questions and discussions throughout the event. A huge thank you goes to Dr. Anna Fricke and all the organizers for orchestrating this remarkable symposium.

We will soon share updates on the valuable outcomes and future collaborations that emerged from this event. Your participation and contributions are greatly appreciated, and we look forward to continuing this journey of discovery together.
