Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA)
State Secretaries Claudia Müller (BMEL) and Jochen Flasbarth (BMZ) visited the “Agricultural Systems of the Future”
27.01.2025
International players from politics, business, science and civil society came together under the guiding theme of “Shaping a sustainable bioeconomy” to discuss the future of the global agriculture and food industry. A key attraction was the interactive multi-touch table at the BMBF funding line stand, which offered a wide range of insights into innovative research projects. Our consortium food4future, one of the funded projects of the “Agricultural Systems of the Future”, is researching innovative concepts, such as the use of alternative food sources and the development of technologies for urban, sustainable food production.
State Secretaries Claudia Müller and Jochen Flasbarth, who visited the “Agricultural Systems of the Future” stand, were particularly interested. During their visit, they were both informed in detail about the forward-looking approaches and work of the agricultural systems of the future and also about food4future.
Prof. Dr. Monika Schreiner, co-head of the BMBF funding line and coordinator of food4future, also emphasized the importance of “Agricultural Systems of the Future”: “We are putting people and the environment at the heart of agriculture.” In the numerous discussions with visitors, food4future was a central topic that aroused great interest. The innovative ideas and research results illustrate how important interdisciplinary approaches are for the development of sustainable agricultural systems.
The GFFA Innovation Forum once again proved to be an important platform for international exchange and the presentation of visionary approaches. The solutions presented mark an important step towards a sustainable and resilient agricultural economy - for a future worth living for all.
