Berlin Science Week 2026

What if Berlin’s abandoned industrial buildings became the food hubs of the future? At Berlin Science Week, food4future invites visitors to rediscover the city’s hidden potential. Explore interactive maps of former breweries, industrial sites and other unused spaces, and learn how they could be transformed into sustainable production facilities for the food of tomorrow.

Discover innovative cultivation systems for algae, salt-tolerant plants and other alternative organisms, taste foods of the future and contribute your own ideas. Together, we will develop visions for a resource-efficient, regional and future-proof food system—and demonstrate how lost places can become future spaces.

Every year from 1 to 10 November, Berlin Science Week brings science and the public together at numerous locations across the city. Under this year’s theme, “In Touch”, the festival explores how research affects everyday life, connects people and can foster dialogue between science and society. In 2026, the festival’s central venue will be located at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt for the first time.
