How can digitalization contribute to actively shaping a sustainable future? This key question shaped this year's sustainability conference at HTW Berlin on 6 May 2025. Under the motto “Smart & Sustainable - Thinking sustainability and digitalization together”, participants from science, teaching and society came together to develop ideas.

food4future was actively involved - with the workshop “Food of the future”, which Lena Jacobi (IGZ) and Marino Gabel (HTW) conducted in both workshop rounds. The focus was on the question of how digital technologies can make food systems more resilient and sustainable: From alternative protein sources to data-supported urban agricultural systems and social innovation processes, the participants took part in intensive discussions.

At the concluding “Market of Opportunities”, we also presented our project work at the food4future stand. In numerous discussions, we were able to present our approaches, gather feedback and gain new perspectives. The market provided an inspiring platform for exchange with other HTW initiatives and interested visitors.

A big thank you to the organizers of the HTW Berlin for an all-round successful event - we will take many new impulses with us into our future work!
