From May 12 to 14, 2025, food4future took part in the international InsectsPlus 2025 conference in Cloppenburg - one of the world's most important events on alternative biomass, insect-based innovations and sustainable nutrition solutions.

 

On 12 May, food4future and the EU project CIRCALGAE jointly organized an interactive co-creation workshop entitled: “Alternative aquatic and land-based raw materials - from laboratory to market launch”

The aim: to discuss new perspectives and approaches for sustainable food sources such as insects, macroalgae, halophytes and jellyfish. Strategies for increasing marketability, overcoming barriers to innovation and improving consumer acceptance were also discussed.

The workshop was characterized by open discussion, collaboration and the common goal of advancing the use of alternative resources in sustainable urban food systems - in the sense of the One Health principle for a healthy environment and healthy people.
